Benefits of Yoga
A practice of movement, breath and consciousness borne from the ancient Ayurvedic Science of Life. Designed to bring harmony and greater integration of body, mind and spirit within oneself and with All That Is!
The nurturing tone and welcoming atmosphere at WW helps the newcomer to put aside common misconceptions about Yoga. Students do not have to be flexible; the practice of asana enhances one's flexibility. Students do not have to be calm; the training provides tools to bring one's mind and heart into greater acceptance and peacefulness. Students do not need to align with, or have, any particular religion; the practice deepens one's own connection to the divine. Students do not need to be 'in shape'; the practice promotes well-being on every level.
Fern's approach to Yoga is heavily influenced by her residency at Kripalu in the Berkshires, her continuing studies in Anusara Yoga with Suzie Hurley from Washington DC, and the Buddhist practice of Vipassana. She has also had extensive studies in Integral Yoga (Satchidananda), Siddha Yoga (Muktananda and Chidvilasanda), Kundalini (Bhajan), Integrative Yoga, Polarity Yoga, and Bikram Yoga.
Three 15 or 16 week sessions are offered throughout the year. The Fall Session begins after Labor Day and concludes before Christmas. The Winter Session begins after the New Year and ends late April/early May. The Spring/Summer Session continues towards the end of August.

Additional Ways to Enjoy Yoga
Fern is always happy to introduce the beginner to Yoga privately. Whether one is new to Yoga or has practiced a long while, there are many reasons for a private session. One on One instruction allows for assessment of the unique ways in which we are put together and have used our bodies. Together we tune into the basics of good alignment and how you internalize and utilize the Yoga instruction.

Fern presents a dynamic and informative seminar she calls "Applied Yoga". There are numerous ways we can bring the benefits of Yoga into our daily routines to improve our health and happiness.

As always, Class Passes may be purchased with cash or check, are non-refundable, non-transferable, and valid within four month session only. If as a senior you are able to pay full rate, your generosity supports others on low, fixed incomes. We are grateful; thank you. If your circumstances require additional discounting, please ask.
We have a Yoga Studio and a massage office inside the Worcester Senior Center at 128 Providence St. Worcester MA 01604 There is abundant well-lit parking in the rear of the building. During off hours please use the rear Staff entrance. Massage hours are also offered in Fern's home office near Quinsigamond College off Burncoat St. in the north section of Worcester.
Classes are not limited to seniors.
Seniors (those over age 65) are offered a substantial discount for the Monday and Wednesday morning classes.
